Dress Code

Principles

This dress policy is for the guidance of Members, their guests and visitors including societies and those golfers that play in open competitions.

It is designed to maintain and promote a consistent dress code at all times both on and off the course. This dress code should enable everyone to enjoy their golf in a relaxed and friendly environment, in line with a modern golf club and we request everyone follows these guidelines. Where members or guests do not follow the policy, we reserve the right for the club and Pro Shop personnel to ask them to comply as soon as practically possible.

On the Course

  • Golfers must wear smart golf wear and golf shoes. As a general rule golf attire, available from the Pro Shop or any reputable golf outlet is acceptable
  • Shirts should be tucked in and the peak of the cap facing forward
  • Replica football shirts (or similar) are not permitted
  • Tailored shorts may be worn with socks (including ‘no-show’ socks)
  • Cargo shorts are not permitted
  • Trousers tucked into socks are not permitted unless covered by over trousers
  • Both denim and trainers are not allowed to be worn on the course

In the Clubhouse

  • Any smart casual clothing (including jeans and trainers) maybe worn in the clubhouse
  • Soft spike golf shoes may be worn in the casual lounge
  • Tailored shorts are permitted in all areas of the clubhouse except when dining at a designated formal function
  • Wet, soiled, or muddy clothing must not be worn in the clubhouse
  • Caps, hats, or replica football shirts (or similar) may not be worn
  • Dress rules may be relaxed, in certain circumstances, with the authority of the Club Captain, Chairman, Team Captain or authorised event organiser
